Printed Wide Leg Trouser Looks

I really like wide leg trousers and this printed one from Nomads Clothing is so
pretty that I had to make a look for it. It ended up turning into two looks!

Look ONE: Fashion Forward

Printed Wide Leg Trouser Look 1

Printed Wide Leg Trouser Look 1 by tamz-lavender

This look is for the bold! Showing midriff is a bold move and looks best
on flat or toned stomachs. (Although not always worn in this way...)
This look shows that perfect little balance of fitted on top, loose on bottom
and short top, long bottom (revealing top, modest bottom).
Topped off with some awesome accessories this look is, shall I say Fierce

Look TWO: Casual Style

This look is a lot more toned down and more of a everyday kind of look.
I like the look of pairing denim with these trousers so I selected this denim
jacket. The white tee has a little interest with the one pocket and a
loose, casual fit. Paired with coordinating accessories and you've got a
casual chic look.

Tribal Chic.

Tribal Chic.

Such a cute look, I just had to blog it!

The look is inspired by this Jen Kao resort 2012 look.
The proportions of the peices in the Jen Kao look are so cool,
and eye-catching. I just wanted to tone it down a bit with
more subdued, neutral colors, but keep it fun & tribal with the printed
crop top and bright colors.

Once again, the crop top paired with a high-waist bottom: so nice!
Doesn't show off too much skin and is likely to be more flattering on
most figures. It reminds me of  the choli, lehenga, & sari attire; always
so beautiful & inspiring to me!

The cropped jacket brings more attention to the waistline; helping to
achieve and emphasize the ever so popular & desired hourglass figure.

Paired with some awesome tribal/ethnic inspired jewelry & accessories,
here's a stylish & attractive look!

Blouse & Skirt Inspired Look

Blouse & Skirt Inspired Look

The look that I'm inspired by is of Sigrid Argen wearing Burberry in W Korea, April 2012
Styling by Sean SpellmanThe picture source is from FashionGoneRogue.

One of the great features about this look is the silhouette;
the loose fit blouse paired with the fitted skirt.
Its flattering without being too body conscious.

My little added touch is the beaded cuffs worn with the flats
as ankle bracelets. (Also references to the ankle strap,
which has been trending.)

The colors in the background of the editorial are so beautiful that
I incorporated them into my look with the accessories.

Another style inspiration I just had to recreate!
I really like this combination: denim & gold!
Its so eye-catching!

Neon Lemonade Sorbet

Great way to wear the neon trend without looking too outrageous.

Wear it in accessories!
Like the Neon Feather Chain Earrings from Forever 21.

Layering a bright color top with another color jacket or vest also accomplishes
this trend without having to be so obvious.

Where I Live: CHICAGO!!!

Where I Live: CHICAGO!!!

Where I Live: CHICAGO!!! by tamz-lavender

Polyvore was having a contest for sets showing Chicagoan's style. So I made one!
Now that I made this I figured this is the perfect opportunity to tell a little more about my style!

This is pretty much always my style: casual!
I always want to be comfortable. I gotta have on flats to walk those long downtown blocks!
Around this time of year I always wear socks with my flats because I don't want my little toes to be cold.

When the skinny jean trend first pop up here in Chicago I hated it, and so did most people I knew.
I eventually grew to like it because those jeans are so much easier to wear with boots that I go
trudging through the snow in. But now I'm over it again and I'm ready for some wide leg denim!
I actually own these jeans in this look (I got em' from Old Navy). The best thing about em' is
that they come in petite sizes!!! So they fit me perfectly!!! My fav jeans right now!

This top is so cute and I own some like it. It has a nice loose fit that doesn't hug my curves, but let
them breathe! I also have a large bust so I don't like to bring attention to them all the time.
Especially when I'm on CTA (public transportation), its some sketchy people that I'd rather not
have their attention to be on me...

I'm always layering so I usually have a cardigan with me. Even in the summer because
you can start to get pretty cold with the air conditioner goin'.

The accessories! I really like wooden jewelry. It isn't trending as much as it has in the past but I still
like it! I have some wood hoops similar to the ones in this look. The peacock necklace is simplistic,
but has those great colors in it!
In my "What I Wore to a Natural Hair Event" post I'm wearing some wood, gold, and peacock jewelry.

So that's my style!
Great colors and a cool, comfortable fit!

Thanks for reading!

Denim & Animal Print

U R BOLD: Denim & Animal Print

U R BOLD: Denim & Animal Print by tamz-lavender

This look that Arlenis Sosa is wearing in this editorial from Flare Mag is so eye-catching to me!
I just had to recreate this look using affordable fashion!

While creating these looks I found that the key to making it work is by pairing a denim top
that has about the same saturation (lightness or darkness) as the animal print in the skirt or dress.
The more saturated colored denim tops just didn't seam to work as well with these particular pieces.

Colored Denim: Moroccan Inspired Look

Colored Denim: Moroccan Inspired Look

Colored Denim: Moroccan Inspired Look by tamz-lavender

A way to wear the colored denim trend!
Wear it with a printed top that has the same color as the jeans.
This may also be a more flattering colored jean for women who have more hips and would
like to make them less noticeable by wearing a darker colored denim jean like this [from Miss Selfridge]!
Darker colors appear to recede, giving the illusion that the figure is smaller (like wearing black).
